Kathy and Kenny Meehan and their three children, formerly of Massachusetts, moved to Kennedy about five years ago, and they decided to open Little Town Diner to share their love of food. While their burgers are very well received in the community, they are best known for their pizza, which boasts the best crust and sauce in Lamar County. (Seriously, it's amazing. You should eat a slice...or seven...we won't judge.
This past summer, we had the pleasure of offering a business grant, which the Meehan's applied for and won. They used the funds to put in an industrial oven, to simplify and expedite their pizza output without sacrificing quality, which is amazing news for those of us who love their pizza. We are used to waiting--because it's worth it!--an hour for the pizza, but now we will get it even faster!
Warm and friendly, Kathy and Kenny have become pillars of the community in the few years that they've lived here. While Kathy bustles about the kitchen, flipping burgers and stirring sauce, Kenny mingles among the customers, taking orders and catching up on all the local gossip. They trade stories, warm hugs, and fill hungry stomachs.
We can't wait to watch their business expand, and we've voted to have chamber meetings at the Little Town Diner from now on. It's more fun to debate fundraisers and discuss improvements to downtown while stuffing our faces with their cheese sticks.
